Message from the Former Vice-Governor, Albay

As I write this message, I am reminded of the story of James Garfield. Before he became President of the United States, he was principal of Hiram College in Ohio. One father asked him if the school could shorten the course being offered so his son could complete his studies in a shorter time.

“Certainly,” Garfield replied. “But it all depends on what you want to make of your boy. When God wants to make an oak, he takes one hundred years. When he wants to make a squash, he requires only two months.”

The question now is this: What kind of persons do we want our children to be?

I have profound respect and admiration to Ezer Foundation, Inc. and its generous partners whose heartbeat is for the underprivileged children. They respond to apostle Paul's call:

“I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35

My prayer is that may your benevolent group ever increase. Please carry on.
