To share with you some information regarding our program, Ezer Foundation, Inc. focuses on the following areas:
1. Care for Children and Youth (Orphanage) - We establish centers that provide safe-house for our wards (Poor, juvenile, abandoned, vulnerable/at-risk) where they are provided with shelter, food, clothing, education, talents development, and most of all, godly values and lifestyle training. We do this to empower the children and youth on capabilities and values that they need, while protecting them from the ills of environment, trafficking, and vicious effect of poverty.
We also respond to, and accept those endorsements for childcare from DSWD offices and other NGOs. We also partner with other NGO's, PO's and other institution concerning child and youth welfare and development.
2. Free Tuition Schools (Pre-School to High School) - We establish Free Tuition Schools in all our centers to provide Pre-School to Secondary Education for our in-house children, and welcome the community to avail of our free tuition, yet quality schools using the accelerated christian education curriculum.
3. Scholarship/Educational Assistance - We give hope to the financially distressed, granting them scholarship and other educational assistance, and enabling them to finished a bachelors degree and even gain credentials and knowledge as they pursue their graduate and post graduate courses. Through these we have the opportunity to take part in the empowering of the less privileged.
4. Ezer Foundation Performing Arts (EFPA) and Orchestra - We provide the children time to play not games, but different kinds of musical instruments - as an intervention program to transform their energy from unfruitful use to a more beneficial activity. We gave them exposures by performing in various events, e.g. Birthdays, wakes, anniversaries, weddings, charity concerts, and the like, to hone more their talents and skills. The Orchestra was, thus, organized.
Likewise, children were given opportunity to have different skills training. While we make the children's time, a worthwhile one, we endeavor to sustain this, preparing them to a brighter future as they become responsible citizens.
5. Care for the Aged (Home for the Aged) - Care, food and shelter, as well as opportunity to become productive, are extended to the elderly committed to our centers, we likewise provide them the opportunity to share their rich experiences, and complement us in the house-rules guidance to the children and youth, while they enjoy being serenaded with the sonata of the orchestra and personally assisted by the children, making the last stages of their life, fruitful and enjoyable.
6. Livelihood - We believe that it is better to teach the needy to catch fish, rather than providing the a ready fish for their sustenance. We have established the Ezer Multi-Purpose Cooperative as avenue for livelihood assistance, and instilling of the spirit of cooperativism or helping each other. While strengthening the people's lives, this programs sustains and provides for the ever growing needs of the foundation due to its expansion and the increasing beneficiaries.
7. Literacy Program - As our contribution to resolve the increasing rate of illiteracy problem in our country, we teach basic literacy (reading, writing, arithmetic, and values) to both schooled and non-schooled children and youth, and reaches out even those in the far-flung areas, whose constituents in their teenage years are still in the elementary grades, and worse, not even able to enter school. We inculcate to them that "education is still a necessary commodity, as ignorance is an expensive trade". Our implementation of the Literacy, Arts and Music and Practical Principles (LAMP) Program is geared towards the accomplishment of this purpose, among others.
8. Health Services - We give free medicines and other medical assistance, conduct medical missions, and blood letting activities in partnership with the Department of of Health, and render other necessary health services in the community, such as hot food and milk feeding to the undernourished children. Ezerfi's beneficiaries turned benefactors who are nurses, midwives and other paramedics volunteer to render the services. We likewise conduct health awareness programs, as heath is wealth.
9. Information Technology - We provide free training in information technology and have catered to hundreds of youth, in partnership with Microsoft's STEP-UP Program through the Visayan Forum Foundation. We have likewise an in-house continuing training on this respect. We also had a TESDA-based computer education course in the previous years (though, discontinued due to facilities problem brought about by typhoon Reming in 2006).
10. Training's & Seminars - We conduct various trainings and seminars for both young and old, to provide them knowledge and wisdom, in a holistic approach.
